go to thule.com and look it up. get the part numbers, and ebay it, or craiglist them. if you want a temp fix, a universal rack can be had for around 50 on ebay. Or i can sell you my temp rack since i have a thule rack now.

I was bored, so here's the info:

if you go Thule, you'll need the 400 (cheaper) or 400xt feet (60-100 via ebay). and fit kit 243 (~ $30-$65 ebay) and the lb50 load bars (30-60 ebay).

      Or pay Thule $434.75.

wow; that's like less than half by sourcing the parts..
got nE better pics of how the universal one looks like?..

i'm also wondering about the mounting..
i might have to pull out the trim in the gutter and see what it looks like..if it has mounting positions ther.

        edit: nvm..it's a gutterless setup

Most universals, the one I have and the way the one in the pic looks, it has two straps that run in side of the door that latch together to keep the rack from flying off of the roof. Its pretty secure. I used mine to haul my carry bag, and my 14 foot foldable ladder on the highway for 60-90 miles at a time.

It just depends on your budget, and if you want to look temp, or "cool." i have 2 mountain bikes that me and my girl ride all the time, so I actually use my Thule Rack.

Yours mounts the same as mine, as you use the same feet. Pictured are the 400 feet, the cheaper ones. The 400xt feet just have a plastic piece that "looks nice" and costs alot more. Same design.

thule all the way, I might be willing to part with my rack since I transport skis and bike on my volvo. unfortunately mazda did not incorporate mounting tabs on the roof like my volvo or other high end euros like bmw etc. also the new fairing they sell is hideous, its like a gay little snowboard. the old square polycarbonate ones look so much better and are very sought after by the vw croud so they hard to come by.

No problem. There is not a whole lot of roof rack knowledge on this form, esp in the BG section, so I'm glad I could help.

The locks you have to order separate, unless you find a package deal. expect to pay around $40 for 4 locks, and a key or two. You need the 544 locks for the 400 and 400xt feet.

The feet have a screw that connects the fit kit to the feet which holds everything to the inner door of the car. On the end of that screw is a square knob that you tighten. The locks goes through and covers that square knob to prevent anyone from just coming by and untightening and walking away with your feet, and cross bars.

To me, its worth it if you care to spend $40 to protect $200. They don't dnt make any safety hardware to keep someone from stealing my $70 fairing. Imma think something up one of these days for that.

on the xt the locks keep someone from lifting the "foot fairing" if that's what's its called, and loosening to the thumb nut underneath and then able to take the rack. I'm not sure if the locks are sold in twos or fours but consider 4 if you wanna lock skis or snowboards, etc, lock down two of the feet and the other two can be used for the other thule accessories.
