    Blower motor?

The fan doesn't turn on for heat or A/C. Is it the blower motor is perhaps it is the resistor? Has anyone had this problem?

Well, today the fans went back on. Is there a quick way to check if it's the blower motor or blower motor resistor?

if it was the resistor, you would only have high speed... none of the other inbetween speeds

check the entire circuit for continuity... there could be a bad ground/switch/connection somewhere

i'd say its a fuse cause it stopped dead, but you said it came back on

Pigeon, my 98 Escort had the resistor bad since my mechanic bypassed the resistor with a wire and the blower started working. It didn't work in any speed before that so there's still a chance it can be that. It was like $15 to $18 at the dealer. Here's where it can get tricky: after a couple of hours of being on and it would burn out again. I bought a used blower motor and the next resistor did not blow. That means that a working blower can actually fry your resistor and you can mistakenly think it's the resistor. Just a heads up to everyone that it's best to replace the blower motor first. If it still doesn't run, then change the resisitor that the first blower might have damaged. If it still doesn't work, put the old blower with the newer resistor in case the used replacement blower is bad. You know, in case you got a used replacement like I did. However, my used one worked perfectly.
