Electrical problem?

when idling in gear, with the defogger on, the idle drops and comes back over and over. and with intermittent wipers on, idle drops and comes back with each wipe. Has anyone seen this? I no longer have the idle problem as described in #1) of this thread http://www.wihandyman.com/forum/show...ght=rough+idle

with no defogger and wipers, the idle is very steady. the car is a 96 LX with 105K miles. Thanks for any suggestions!

its your alternator loading up. You may have a weak alternator or nearly dead battery.

or a resistive short somewhere in your wiper motor. If you can check how many amps you're putting in and out of the battery with the various electrical loads on.
