I also put the North American tails in and removed the strut tower bar. North American tails make the car so ugly I want to puke.

2 days ago I purchased and brought home the Protege. I immediately started removing all the hack-job stereo and fog light wiring and my girlfriend started cleaning the interior. I power-washed the engine bay and the exterior. I also broke the car... it wouldn't start.
Yesterday, I replaced the plugs and wires and figured out why it wouldn't start... now I need to figure out why in the (F) the wiring is rigged up like it is. My gf continued to clean the interior. We discussed renting a carpet shampooer to clean the disgusting interior.
Today I ordered the winter tires. More work to come after class this afternoon.1991 Escort Pony:

Glad to hear you got it running nez. Sounds like you have a wiring nightmare on your hands though. Today I replaced the downstream O2 sensor earlier. Cleared the code for it in July before getting an inspection and haven't bothered with it til today. It was a pita to get out, but gave way eventually. Replaced it with an OEM Bosch sensor from Advance Auto Parts. Still hasn't solved my idle issue at stop lights though.

Got the interior ripped out today, scrubbed the carpet with a stiff brush and a cocktail of Simple Green and Dawn... it came out awesome. There are still a few stubborn stains and spots of discolouration but I can't complain too much. We borrowed a carpet shampooer but it sucks, Nikki wasted tons of time using that on the seats today. I think we'll be going back to the old Simple Green and brush method. I scrubbed up a lot of the trim too.
I also got 2 of the 4 tires mounted... Firestone Winterforce P175/70R13... man are they wicked tires. Directional, studdable, and really aggressive. I look forward to seeing how they perform in the winter. WAY better than my Escort's Fuzion ZRI LOL1991 Escort Pony:
