    ES calipers on LX spindles?

Simple as that. Will ES calipers bolt to LX spindles?

    #2
you should cross reference driveshaft serial numbers to let u know, i'm pretty sure the driveshaft on the 1.5 is different from the 1.8, but then again the spindle might be the same..

    damn, back to square one.

But if I dropped in a 1.8 in my car and kept the automatic trans, then I'd be using 1.5 driveshafts with a 1.8 engine.

Anyway, I can't seem to find any part numbers for front spindles. Is there a number stamped into the part that I can look for?

Also, I've been looking at caliper part numbers and in the description they either say "w/bracket #13" or "w/bracket #14". Anyone know what these numbers mean?

its probably like the v codes for the bg fronts... ones bigger than the other ...

i am thinking the input side of teh axles are different spline, but would only know when we get that apart, unless you can find a good axle shop that could tell you. They know what axle parts can cross over.

that would mean you'd have two different hubs LOL, that's pretty funny..so in that case their probs the same.

If anyone can confirm this then it would be great. Less parts, less hassle. And less shipping, haha.

If you could ship the front spindles as well that would be great. I'm not sure what will swap over and bolt together so its more of a "just in case" situation. Thanks a lot.

the calipers are the same, its just the front caliper bracket that holds the pads on that's different...

these cars have the same brakes as my old 92 323, front and rear...how do i know this? I used my 323 calipers, rotors, pads, shoes, cyls on my Z5 powered 98 Protege.

I don't think u will have a problem with the hub splines, just found my escort knuckles swapped directly over, but they are also from the 1.9. But i do remember when i did the bp swap for a friend of mine a while back, we didn't need to swap knuckles for that either.

So it looks like I'll just need the calipers and rotors then? No need to swap knuckles/spindles?

I'm pretty sure you'll need at least the rear spindles as I think the drum and disk ones are different. Not possative though. Hell might be as easy as swapping hubs on the rear

I'll wait to buy a tote for the spindles till you find out all the info you need. Smaller tote=less for shipping

I've been looking around and can't find any real solid info on what I need. I'll obviously need the rears, but I'd say to send the fronts just in case. If I don't need them, then I won't use them, but I'd like to have them just to be on the safe side.
