Timing Belt (Use Mazda or Import Shop)?

I have 55,000 on my 2002 MP5 and i recently took it to Mazda for a repair. The technical told me its time for the timing belt to be replaced, normal at 60,000 miles.

Ok, then they quote a $300+ price quote (which includes the rest of the belts). This just seems a little pricey. I mean OF COURSE factory is going to be more.....duh.

However, is this something important enough to have Mazda take care of or would an Import Repair Shop be able to take care of this effectively.

I intend on keeping my MP5 for many many years, just want to take care of it.

3.1 hours labour @ labour rate + $88 for the belt + $50 for filters .... thats a cheap rate.
