    interfearance engine or not?

I am new to the forum so thanks to all for having me here. I have a 2000 Protege with the 1.6 . Does anyone know for sure if it is an interfearance engine or a non-interfearance engine (will spin free if timing belt breaks and pistons will not touch valves) ??????

Ok , so i'm good if the belt breaks? Just wondering , although i did a precautionary timing belt change last summer . Man that was a booger to get out .I had to unhook the top engine mount completely and also broke off one bolt on the lower front side of the valve cover . I tried to use a reverse drill bit to get it out but no luck .I just used a lot of sealant around it and the other bolts held the cover down fine. Anyways thanks for the help.
