    Valve sping maybe?...

Well yesterday i was following my frind, in a 95 integra since we were bored went trough a wind7 road and what not after about 20min of hard driving and high rpm's went to eat and i noticed a chattering so popped the hood and heard a chattering fomr the left cylinder(when standing in forn tof the car) not sure if its the 1st or 4th on proteges. It is a 2002 LX 2.0L by the way. so gave it a little gas and when suden changes in RPm such as 3k to idle or idle to WOT a horrible chattering noise form that one cylinder and my gues is a broken valve spring or or the valve keeper retainer thing popped of in some ridiculus way or some sort of valve problem forsure. Si i was wondering what you guy's oppinion is on this. and since this is my daily driver car i would really like ot be sure before i rip of the head, but its horrible either way, thanx

If it gets louder when you increase the rpm it's more than likely a valve lifter gone bad. Prolly from running too low on oil.

well it was time for an oil change almost so i changed just few min ago and just as bad, now that im awake and its light out im noticing the sound is comming more form the bottom end of the engine, its not a light valve tapping or chattering its a pretty distict thump, my frind said it might be a connecting rod since same thing hapeneted to some potiac he owned but yeah not healthy to drive at all, and its more like a loose chatter not the sam eall the time in any suden increase of rpm its very loud and sound like my piston ready to shoot out the bottom then when its at idle its just a thumping

Sounds like you spun a rod bearing. Best bet is to stop running it before you do too much damage to where you cant fix it.

Get a video so as we can hear it, but my bets on a spun bearing.

Yep Bad connecting rod bearing. The More you put a load on the engine the greater it will get or louder I mean. Could be a easy fix if you fix it early and havent ran it to much while it been like this.

were there metal shavings and stuff in the oil when you drained it?

well ordered some bearings today, since 2 of my rod bearing were completly shot as you can hear in the audio file, and called my frnds shop to see how much it would be to get my crankshaft recut, hopefully itl be running soon
