Can a stock 2.0 block hold 450 horsepower???

I have a 2001 protege with a 2.0 and has turbo with 7psi of boost and I want to run 14 to 20 psi after winter and was wondering if the stock block will hold it?

How the hell is 20psi going to be 450 hp. 1psi is roughy ~10hp The stock FS is rated at what 120. The msp is rated at 170 hp crank at ~6 psi,

This works with the 1psi=~10hp figure.
So unless your also running a 200 shot good luck.

no it will explode to little jelly-bean size pieces...be glad it's still holding up. you swap a msp motor/turbo or something?

more details would be great too, all depends on what shape it's in, fuel/engine management and so on, but i'm pretty sure to have 450hp you have to get forged pistons, rods, standalone and so forth and ALOT of VERY careful tuning. you can't just cranck up the boost and be merry

The stock fs is good up to like 750 hp. Throw in some high comp pistons and you'll be straight for like 850
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

Lols ... no stock engine will "hold" 4 times its intended power output.

Besides unless this is a drag racing car you'd never want that much power in it. O yeah, and the tranny will likely blow quickly at that power level.

You won't see anywhere near 400HP out of a GT28 at 20psi on a Protege. 300whp at 15-18 psi is not very hard to do though.

What is the real goal for the car? Fast street car, dedicated drag car, track car?
