    Something Smells...

Can anyone tell me why I get exhaust smell in my interior?

    Welcome to the Forum.

Most likely, you have an exhaust leak somewhere in the system. Check that out.

I also want to mention that my exhaust is not loud but, I do get some hesitation from 1500 to 2500 rpms were ever I might launch the car. Is it possible that the cat convrt is bad? Do you think the exhaust is going back into the engine? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!!

Sounds like your catalyic converter could be clogged and you are sucking up the fumes through the air conditioning vents. That or like goldstar said, an exhaust leak somewhere.

A little carbon-monoxide never hurt anybody

I remember the one day I had to run open downpipe. So much black smoke tried seeping through the vents and it made me light-headed. Hearing the turbo spool openly was pretty cool though.

Thanks for the replies. Last night I opened everything up and found alot of black grainy soot in the short pipe (just after cat convrt.) checked the cat, its ok. All new seals installed.

So far today no smell but, still have hesitation. Must be my EGR or MAF. First time ever for this to happen and I have 250,000 mile on the poor thing.
