I'm up in Gainesville and I do my own work because most mechanics aren't as good a me or they at least don't care as much about my car, but there is a place called Smitty's that not only does a good job, but they are really very honest. www.sasponline.com is there website for parts.
Make sure your cooling fans are running. The drivers side should be on whenever your A/C is on. If you don't have enough air circulation across the radiator (and condenser) you can't convert the vapor back to liquid, which means the freon can't evaporate and provide cooling inside the car. Is your temperature gage reading about half way up or is it high (especially at idle).
You can get freon with indicator at just about any autoparts store. I have a $20 A/C kit that I got at advance autoparts that let's me fill as well as check high and low side pressure.
