    Hazy headlamps

Does anyone know how to remove the haze that develops on headlamps? I have an '01 and I've never cleaned them. They're pretty bad and need to be cleaned big time. Apparently, there IS a way (or two). A friend told me to try rubbing compound but it didn't even put a dent in them. He also then suggested white sandpaper(?) Has anyone tried the sandpaper method or something else that worked well?

    Thanks in advance.

You might want to try this stuff. I hear tell it works pretty damn good. I've never heard of the white sandpaper method before. The only other thing I've used on headlights is brake fluid, and that won't put a dent in yours from the sound of things.

I've tried many different things & only made a little bit of difference, finally I just bought a new one off E-Bay for like $ 35.00.

There is method where you wetsand with multiple grits of sandpaper and then polish them but I'm not sure of the specifics on it. try googling "hazy headlights sandpaper" or something, it wouldn't have to be a tutorial for a protege. whatever car it was for you could obviously do the same thing on your lenses

I believe 3M makes a headlight restore kit. It contains everything, you just need to supply the drill. Hit up an auto store in your area and im sure you will find something.

wetsand with 600 grit then smooth it up with 1500 before using a good quality car polish. that will make it look like new again

you have to sand off all the oxidation off the light otherwise it wont look good when polished
