          aplogies, because of different terms and languages used over here .... when you guys mention axles ... do you guys actually meant the front drive shafts? the ones sticking out of the gearbox to spin the wheels?

            Correct. They are referred to as Axles. They go from the gearbox (or transmision) to the hubs on the wheels. For the BP there are 3, Driver's side, Passenger's Side, then a Transaxle (or transdrive shaft) that connects the passenger side to the gearbox.

                okay, got the driveshafts (axles);
                -we refer it to the long one and the short (long-right) and (short-left). It's 3 pieces in all

                I have 2 types both new;
                a) made in TAIWAN - cheap - about usd150 bucks per side
                b) made in JAPAN - expensive - about usd350-400 per side

                Japan is ofcourse a better quality one but so far all TAIWAN made axle users have no complaints

                regards

                            A transaxle? The half shaft you mean? Transaxle = transmission.

                              No its called the "Joint Shaft" Curtiusy of FSM. It is the one that comes out of the DOHC tranny and do the passenger side Axle.
