GI: Stainless VJ20/T3 Manifold w/ external gate option.

Since this is a GI thread. I don't have to post pics just yet...wait about a week. Don't get your pants in a bunch!

    *ahem*

I have been polling a certain few people on the board who are in need of a manifold that performs beyond the stock GTX cast piece.
Plus the fact that everyone is frustrated with the boost creep with the VJ20's minuscule wastegate.
But some people don't want to invest just yet in a custom downpipe as well.

So....here is where I come in.

I am having 12...yes...I said 12. Stainless steel tubular manifolds built.

....ok.....you can start breathing again. I want you to at least finish reading before you pass out. ok? ok.

Now comes the really neat part.

They can take either the stock VJ20 turbo OR a Garrett T3 turbo with the flange I designed.
    Best of all.....

IT KEEPS THE TURBO IN THE STOCK GTX POSITION!

    Yeppers...you got it.
All stock GTX components can be used with this manifold.

You want to use the stock downpipe....Sure!
You want to use the stock intake piping....Sure!
You want to use the stock oil feed and return....Sure!

The manifold will not compromise that.

So for all the people out there that want to buy a turbo manifold...you now will not be stuck with only being able to use the VJ20 on a GTX mani. Also you won't be stuck with having to use a 1/2" T3 adapter plate which makes your oil return become a little sketchy.
Plus there will be a 38mm Tial wastegate port coming out of the collector for the option of going to a common external gate.

Yes. Buy this manifold and you can still use your stock setup while you save your pennies to go External Gate.

    Say goodbye to boost creep!!!

Every manifold will be shipped with a block off plate so you can still run an internally gated turbo if you so choose!

It's all about having options to change. Think of it like a swiss army manifold.

    Down to details:

-All the runners are 304 Stainless Pipe - Short runner design
-All the flanges are Laser cut Mild steel...if you want stainless...the price goes up fast.
-The pipes are being ovaled out to match the BP port shape
    -Fully stainless TIG welded
-Flanged to fit the GTX VJ20 Turbo AND a Garrett T3
-Flanged to fit a standard Tial pattern wastegate w/ block off plate.
-Bolts up to the BP head without a hitch...no fighting for that center bolt either
-Keeps the turbo mounted in the stock position
-Lets you keep any/all of the stock plumbing
-Lets you upgrade at any time to a common Garret T3 pattern turbo without changing the manifold

    -Will actually exist
(that should be the big one people should pay attention to )

Now before I start getting PM's saying "But Drew....This sounds so fantastic....but you haven't said a price"

My response would be "You really should read farther down before sending me PM's"

Because somewhere right about here...I would state the price.

    $445

See...no need to PM me now about that

These come with a full manufacturers defect warrenty
So no...that doesn't mean if you shot it out of a cannon into the Grand Canyon that it would be covered.
It means that if it cracks from normal use (No cannons!) that it will be covered!

    So to recap:

Stainless Manifold. Good for Stock GTX, Good for T3, Good for Tial = Good for the BP

That should get a few people interested. I'll wait a few days before posting pics....just so I can sit back with an evil grin

I planned ahead for ya Lex. I am working on a Combo VJ23/T3 flange as well just for you. I need to double check some critical dimensions with you though first. Send me a PM.

BTW. The VJ20 and the VJ23 bolt patterns interfere with each other. So an "Uber-Universal" flange isn't really practical/possible

        sounds awesome!

another random note, the vj23 and vj11 have the same bolt pattern... so if you make a flange to fit the GTR turbo it could also be used with a vj11, or a vj11/subaru hybrid.

A VJ23/T3 flange would really be tits. The 23 sits very close to the block stock - it will have to be a pretty precise piece.

I replied to your PM. Let me know if you can't get the CAD model and I will look into the dimensions (I'm already in bed for the night lol)

One of those manifolds WILL belong to me. I want one, I have cash in paypal.
                      This IS my word.
                      Bump for 11 more manifolds
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
