GI: GpA rear LSD clutch pack

I am gonna have at least one spare set of LSD guts laying about here. This item bolts into your stock 1.6/1.8 GTX or 4wd Protege rear end. The ring and pinions are identical across all these, as well as the rest of the GpA rear end. I wanna see what they're worth to someone, so's I can figure out my budget to throw a bunch of Toyota GT4 parts at the rallycar. They're obviously used, but both sets survived when the rest of the diff exploded, and I'll have a pro mechanic look them over and measure them out before being sold. Offers? if they're in high enough demand I'll sell both sets and use some of the proceeds to stuff an evo8 rear end in the street car, seeing's how they use the same rear end ratio as we do.

1.6 miata guys can use these diffs as well - might want to see if any of them are interested. miataturbo.net is a good site.

I'd almost jump on it, but if you're breaking stuff, I will be too in a couple years, so I'll avoid that bit of pain. Evo8, eh? Dang, I need to start looking ahead!

Keep in mind the rallycar diff had who knows how many events on it, and the one in the street car was my old gtx rally diff, and looking at that logbook it had *29* rallies on it before I started pushing 300hp through it. And the clutch packs, the replacements for the spider gears, that I'm selling, still work! Also, as far as I've been able to tell, I don't think anyone else in the GTX community-rally or otherwise- has busted one yet. They really are pretty tough, I just abused them beyond their abilities at their advanced age and very difficult life... in fact I may very well only sell one, and just stick the other one back in another diff and stick it back in the street car. It'll prolly outlast the rest of the driveline.

In order to use the clutch packs, I'd need the actual gp.A diff body for them to fit into, wouldn't I? Or maybe I'm just not thinking straight.

Nope, they drop right in. Seems the gpa diff pumpkin & ring/pinion are no dimensionally different.

jay just so we are clear... you'd be selling a complete carrier with spiders/clutches/etc, right? bolt up your stock ring gear and go?

yes, it does. you will just need to use the miata ring gear as the protege has a different gear ratio. i think jay broke the ring gear anyway, so thats not really a concern lol.
