FS: AWD rear LSD unit - Used in So Cal.

Hey Gang. I think the car is going to come apart here pretty soon, due to my upcoming divorce from my wife. So the first thing I am offering up is the Mazdaspeed Clutch plate LSD unit for the rear diff of a 4WD Pro or GTX.. I serviced this unit 2 years ago before I installed it in my car, and has about 25K on it and still nice and tight. I will include the two stub shafts as well since one has to be cut down. Here is a chance to add some improved handling to your AWD/4WD protege or GTX. This will work in the rear of the 88/89 BF GTX as well..

Looking for $450.00 shipped lower 48 only.. I do take paypal if you include the 3.3% fee they charge. email is clean.racing@gmail.com or PM if serious..

So, this was installed on your car? Why does one of the stub shafts have to be cut down if this was working in your car? Are you not including all the parts be a direct fit?

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

also interested in this "CUT DOWN" thing, i just installed the same thing in a Protege4wd housing and didnt have to cut down anything. however i do see 1 of your stub shafts is different

he said he is including the cut down stub shaft. it probably uses the miata VLSD stubs, but you can make one by machining the stock stubs.

jeff i gave you the miata stubs with that LSD

i'm betting the main snap ring groove on the weird LSD axle is closer to the hub

I had a diff with the miata viscous unit in it and removed the vlsd, and installed this unit. hence the cut down shaft.. I kept my stock open diff all complete and in tact to reinstall in the car if I ever sold it. So that explains why I have the cut shaft. Craig had gotten the miata vlsd from me a while ago for his 4wd pro..

Jorden, aka sarge on here, has my pro now with the lsd. I never got a chance to install the diff, but I'm sure he will as he plans to cage it for stage rally.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

Let me know if Sarge changes his mind... I'm pretty sure he won't. But I'd love to have it. I still have a jdm gtx lsd in the back of my gtx. Which reminds me...What do people do with the center diffs in the bpt awd cars when it's toast? I read somewhere a viscous diff only lasts 60K miles and then it starts behaving like an open diff?!!

That about the cutest little differential I've ever seen. It's like a puppy compared to the Cusco 2way I just put in my Lexus.

The last one I tried the silicone stuff we used to repack toyota fan cluthes with.. I think it took like 15 tubes of the stuff.. I didn't care because I had a box full of them. Worked fine while it was in the car, now its in the UK..

Oh yeah Sold to Sarge pending payment...:D
