we have hit the deadline, this group buy is officially *closed*. I may actually do this again sometime, considering the big response we had.

payments were rec'd for a total of 14 plates! i'm mailing the check tomorrow, and i will let everyone know when final payments are due (via mass PM). last i checked a few weeks ago, lead times were running about 2 weeks - so you may actually get that PM pretty soon.

please review the plating/coating options below (copy/paste from post 118). if you want something besides bare steel, you can send me the money as a seperate payment or simply tack it on to your final payment if you are currently at 50%. Please be sure to either PM me or make a note in the paypal notes of exactly what you want.

Some people expressed interest in having their adapter plates powdercoated, for rust resistance and color. I am adding this as an option, along with some plating options. I am going to have the design revised ever-so-slightly to remove the corner I had to grind off to clear the FWD clutch slave, so that will be done prior to coating.

Powdercoating - your choice of color - $25 additional
Zinc (clear or gold) or Nickel plating - your choice - $45 additional
Both - $65 additional (save $5)

The additional amount can be added to your final payment, or made as a separate payment for those who are already paid in full. Be sure to include in the notes exactly what you want (color for powdercoat, type/color for plating).

For the powdercoating colors, I can do all your basic colors but nothing fancy like metal flake etc. They are gloss finishes only. Because powdercoating is thicker than plating, I will have to mask off the dowel pins, plug the bolt holes, etc. These areas will not be coated and therefore could still theoretically rust someday. If you want an oddball color PM me about it with a pic/description and I'll see if we have it. No, I cant do an exact color-match to a paint chip or anything like that.

The zinc or nickel plating will cover the plate entirely and result in the best overall corrosion protection. It would be an Electroless type plating. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroless_nickel_plating

If you are a high roller, I can always powdercoat OVER the plating, to give you a fancy color + complete corrosion protection.

A couple things came up:

The bad news: I misunderstood the details about the plating, basically they all have to be done with one finish. We cant do two gold, one clear, three nickel, etc. Minimum batch fees and things like that create issues.

The good news: Because of the quantity, he's agreed to give everyone zinc plating at no charge! I made an executive decision and decided to go with clear zinc over gold. If for some reason you have an issue with this as a finish choice, you still have the option of no plating but you'll have to let me know.

For anyone who has already paid for plating services, I will issue a partial refund this evening.
