Here's a fun and potentially stupid question....

If the rear bushing doesn't really do anything or add any resistance to motion... then why not make some out of delrin, or even billet aluminum? (I'm thinking the delrin would probably be a better idea)

Jim, are you making these to use the stock rear bushing? If so, couldn't we find a supplier to make these out of Delrin? I might ask CF_Z on the MX6 forums about it if you think it would be a good idea. He does shifter bushings out of a similar material. I could supply a factory bushing to mimic.

These are being designed to use the stock rear bushing. We were talking about an idea of a custom bracket for the rear bushing. but of course you could always talk to ryan about just getting his spherical bushings for the rear.

Right, i'm talking about making a replacement for that rear bushing, same size, dimensions, and type of install out of a better material than rubber/poly so you wouldn't have a rodend on one side, and crappy rubber or something on the other.

You know what's cool---I was able to flip the other arm (passenger side) upside down in the jig and it fit perfectly---I never take that stuff for granted anymore---but I don't have to build another jig---just move the swaybar tab to the other side of the arm to designate dr/ps side...

Here's a couple of photo's of the arm/design so far...these are out of cheap material while we fine tune it. I'll have more later tonight/tomorrow.

lol understandable. I have the ES bushings in my arms right now, i just planned on using them. its possible that Jim could design a solid mount for use instead, but he would have to comment on that.

oh thats good news, that means i could source a drivers side arm if i needed to and just leave the sway bar hanging out

You could certainly do that---but Ryan has a very cool encapsulated spherical that fit's in there---might be able to talk him into it/separating---I know Amar Sehmi did a delrin deal for the rear of the eclipses---I'm not sure you'd notice much difference in a street car/rallycar, a roadrace car maybe at the limit though...

Yeah JRally mentioned if I put a plate with a hole in it (for the swaybar) the arms would be universal---I planed on running a tab anyways but could easily be talked into a plate for the guys that don't want to bother...
Matt if your talking about a stock arm, check and make sure the balljoint will fit on both sides/upside down---it's kind of a wedge shape...

I'll shoot him a PM this week and see if he would be interested in separating...

Just would bug me to have one pair of bushings left in the car. I'm slightly OCD. :p

LOL! I hear you---one more pic---we mitered/capped the ends---plenty of clearance at the hub/rotor's at full lock. Also added a piece of 1" at the center of the bend/where the swaybar tab will end up...so far so good.

Im concerned with the apparent angle on the rod end. IF these were use in conjunction with a castor rear bushing, would the remaining ball portion be sufficient?
Why have you placed it to have such an angle rather then riding in its normal?

EDIT: could you please take more pictures of that rod-end assembly more closeup
