1992 Protege LX STICK only 61Kmi exc cond $2100

1992 Protege, MANUAL TRANS. Maroon color. $2100. Very low mileage (61,000)---if checking Kelly Blue Book price, don't forget to enter this mileage and also the trim level (LX---which means AC and power everything).

Garage-kept, one owner, no rust, never in accident, some small paint chips and scratches, no dents. Everything works. Interior is in very good condition consistent with low usage. The well-known seatbelt problems did develop and have been fixed. Engine still as peppy as when new. Replaced oem radio with JVC radio/CD player (also plays MP3 CDs). Extra hubcap and Chilton repair manual included.

I need a newer and larger car for work, and have ordered one for Dec delivery.

Car is in Evanston, IL (Chicago suburb). Can be test-driven now, but not available for transfer until mid-Dec. If you can wait that long, this is a chance to pay a modest price for a car in great condition with lots of life left in it.

    Please e-mail pdutta # yahoo.com.

Hah, like I'd cut a hole in the roof of a car.

Meh, I'm not going to be building a race car, just a nice, clean, powerful car with a JDM exterior. So a sunroof outweighs a few lbs. and slightly less structural integrity. Plus I already have a spare, mint glass panel ready to swap in.

Adding a factory style sunroof after the fact is not for the faint of heart. It's not just a matter of cutting a hole in the roof, the edges have to be properly rolled. Just look at the factory install. Even routing the drains is a royal PITA.

This is one job that is best left to Professional to do.

                  Pat.

Sunroof = less "bracing" because less metal in roof and technically crappier handling capability! ALOT more important is low mileage, great condition, garage kept and its NOT a auto. Your gonna bitch about no sunroof? COMEON!
**SOLD** 93 EGT with more suspension mods then your average riced out civic's # of decals + useless "bling/style/culture" mods! **SOLD**
95 EGT New beater! And gawd damnit shes NOT pink!

In the OP I said "available mid-Dec", but I got my new car yesterday, and the old one sold today for asking price. Probably means I asked for too little, but that's life.

It's going to a good home, but I'm sad. My previous car was a barebones Corolla, with roll-up windows and no AC. For me, in 1992, this Protege was a luxury car. And it's been a happy car, completely reliable and fun to drive.

                            Thanks everyone.
