    GI: 1989 ford ranger

truck is 2wd, 5 speed, long bed, single cab.

its metallic tan, a cheap repaint, with dents and dings... but hardly any rust, really clean underneath. tan interior, kinda worn out and dirty. needs little things but i'm fixing them as i go (broken door handle, dome light doesnt work, etc).

lots of new parts (clutch, rad, heater core, tune up, front suspension bushings, etc etc etc) but 268k miles. honestly it runs really well, but has some squeaks and creaks. still gets out of its own way just fine. ford used variations of the 2.3 from like 79-00, so getting parts or a replacement motor for this thing is cake.

i bought this truck because it was so clean rust-wise, and because i needed a truck to tow my escort with. turns out, the CGVWR on this truck is too low to legally tow a ****ing escort on a dolly - thanks for under rating trucks with manual transmissions to avoid warranty clutch replacements, ford! if it had an automatic, it would be fine. also, you cant modify your vehicle to increase its weight rating (better gears, even an auto tranny swap), it can only be done at special approved shops and costs thousands of dollars. therefore, this truck is pretty much useless to me.

if you have something worth trading let me know. right now this is my only vehicle, as i dont drive the escort in the winter and its tranny is broken anyway. if you arent doing towing it'd make a great little pickup, i'd trade straight up for an auto v6 or something if you'd like to get some better gas mileage...
