Looking for a Protege LX motor

Hey everyone I'm a long time Mazda MX-3er on who finally talked my little brother into joining the Mazda family. He just got a 4 cylinder MX-3 and we're looking to do a Protege LX/ Escort GT swap ASAP. Looking for someone, preferably in the NY TriState Area but not limited to it, that has a motor in good condition for sale or knows of a place where we can go get a good condition one. Also looking for the ECU at the same time if possible. I would like to get it by this weekend if possible so let me know. You can e-mail me at albravo83@aol.com or you can reply here. Thanks in advance to everyone and welcome me to the forums...

I have a 2003 Protege LX 2.0 motor. with about 20k on it. Works great.

I'm looking to sell the motor, and tranny.

I'm selling the clutch and flywheel separately to a MSPROTEGE.com forum member.

If you are interested in any of this, let me know.

yeah I'm looking strictly for a 90-93 BP engine. If anyone has one in the metro NYC area let me know still. I'm looking to buy this weekend or ASAP. Also looking for the ECU so if you have that also let me know. Thanks everyone.

yes the 96 97's are obdII which seems like a positive to me ya its gonna be some extra tuneing and more expensive in the long run but much better control. you should see how clean OBDII car run. for instance my 330 v8 in my truck blows out numbers really low highest number is a 4 on nox .01 on co and normally 0 or 1 on hc.
