I don't know. Its for my brother the protege is his daily. He works 60 miles away round trip and works 6 days a week. His minivan is killing him on gas so he needs this back on the road, and I do too because I need the bay his protege is in to put my rsx and get to work installing the blower. As far as I know his trans grinds and is making weird noises. What year/motor cars can I get the tranny out of?

The transmission is a F25M-R, and it's found in lots of Proteges all throughout the years.

Ok I talked to him last night. He said that it was making a noise like a bearing was shot. I can confirm this I drove the car and I thought it was a wheel bearing but they changed both and it didnt stop. Its def coming from the trans and its most likely one of the diff bearings but he cant move the selector rails to reveal these cotter pins he's suppose to take out I guess? Do any of you guys by chance know these trannys well? and live locally?

Thanks alot for that link Jho.

could just be a pilot bearing or a release bearing.

                You're welcome.

When does it make the noise? With the clutch pedal depressed or not? In gear or neutral? Moving or not?

How many miles on the car/tranny/clutch BTW?
