Masterbanter meant an automatic Protege LX. IIRC, the Escort LX doesn't have a BP in it does it? I am not very familiar with Escorts, but I thought only the GT's had the BP in them. The throttle body from an automatic GT would probably work too. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

If you can't differentiate between brake and break, you should go back to school

the GTX throttle body isnt an upgrade... its identical to an auto BP one. so automatic protege LX or automatic escort GT. it will allow the TPS to interface correctly with the GTX ecu for better driveability

yeah the 5 speed TPS is basically just an idle switch... while the auto/gtx/gtr one actually has a variable potentiometer in it to tell the ECU the actual throttle position. you cant just swap sensors because the throttle bodies are machined differently iirc.

There's no size difference at all between the auot and manual tb's. It's just the auto tb comes with a 4 wire tps and the manual comes with a 3 wire tps.

No, just get the TB from an automatic Protege LX/EGT/Tracer LTS.
