    Wanted: large crank pulley ASAP

Wanted: a crank pulley for the long snout BP

Also; please tell me if this is correct!

If the GTR engine is a long snout BP,
then the 1991 EGT is short snout.
IIRC, 1992 is long snout too.
The GTR main crank pulley has two V ribbed belt, but the EGT had one V ribbed belt and one V belt.

The engine to pull parts from parts is a 1991 engine picked up a long time ago.

Don't I now have to find a crank puley for the long snout BP?

Please let me know, as this project is now under way!

Hello Jon, and thanks for the quick response

This is a GTR engine to go into an EGT.

I'm in Lexington, Ky., 'Cayman' is in Akron,Oh. I won't be there until the wknd of the 8th for Super Sumit.

So this is all the info I have for now. You and many others know this stuff.
I'm a basic parts replacer/bone stocker. Chris and Ryan know me 1st hand.

Any thing you can tell me can be of use, I'm sure.

      Thanks Jon.

well, you can use the GTR crank pulley... just buy an alternator belt for a 1996 EGT. the ribbed belt works a lot better than the V-belt.

if for some reason you wanted/needed to convert it you'd also need the v-belt style water pump and alternator pullies.

but really, i'd stick to the gtr belt setup if you can.

I own a 1996 EGT also. It happens to have a V belt for the alternator.

          Go figure.

The GTR crank pulley has some damage from the original accident when I got the engine from Japan. That is why it needs replaced.

              ahhh okay, makes sense now

              options:
              1. find another ribbed belt crank pulley. donor cars include 96 EGT's (yours must have a swapped motor i guess?), 94-97 kia sephias (1.8 BP only), and i THINK 94-97 miatas too.

              2. convert to vbelt. you'll need the water pump and alternator belt pulleys as well. any 92-95 EGT or 92-94 protege LX should have the parts you need.

as i said above, i REALLY reccomend keeping the GTR belt setup. it works much better.. no squeaks and squeals and crap.

Got the water pump pully. That is not an issue. Got a complete short crank BP sitting in the garage. Parts, besides the crank pulley, will be fine.

                The 1996 EGT runs a V-Belt, but a V ribbed. Original engine in the 1996. V belt.

Looked the part numbers off the Ford website. Lists the same crank pulley from 1992 to 1996.

I take it nobody has any laying around they want to sell.

                Will look elsewhere.
