    1994 Escort GT parts

I am looking for the 1.8L FPRV (Fuel Pressure Regulator Vacuum) Solenoid.
It sits on the back of the motor, passenger side, and connects between vacuum supply and fuel pressure regulator.
It has two wires connected to it, White/Red stripe, Dark Green/Orange stripe.
Mine is broken and the fuel pressure regulator is not connected to vacuum at all.

Can I bypass this and connect directly to Intake Manifold vacuum ???

Right next to this is the IMR (Intake Manifold Runner) Solenoid.
    White/Red stripe, Black/Red stripe wires.

yes you can bypass it completely with little harm. i forget what exactly it does but it certainly wont hurt performance you might get a cel tho ....

The FPRV Solenoid has it's vacuum lines broken off
and the vacuum hose from the Fuel Pressure regulator is just hanging.
      Surprisingly, I don't have a CEL yet.

I have read in the Service Manual that the Fuel Pressure Regulator
is supposed to have Intake Manifold Vacuum
but it doesn't say what the FPRV does.

just leave the electrical plug on the solenoid but connect your FPR directly to the intake manifold. It works and you won't get a CEL.

IIRC, the sensor adjusts your fuel pressure for cold starts.I rerouted my vaccum, but left the electrical connector in, and i didnt notice any difference at all.I felt alot safer with direct vaccum, then through a dumb unneeded sensor.
