Hey guys. I have a 2003 mazdaspeed protege that threw a rod. The warranty company declined the repair so now I'm looking for a motor for it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think there's a slight difference, kind of like the differences between a bp26 engine and a bp05 engine.
I know the MSP engines can't take a lot of abuse, so that right there says to me the internals aren't revised or upgraded.-Jack

Some of the FS-DE motors in the 626s had weaker cast cranks. Not really a big deal when the rods are the weak link, but it is a difference.

Thanks for help so far guys. I bein told by mechanic the only motor I can get is another msp motor. Now my truck is wreacked so I kinda need to get this goin.Comment
