ever wonder why subs sound better facing the rear?

well, i've always seen it as we have 2 options for where to put the sub. if you want it facing forward, you have to seal it off from the trunk, like in an infinite baffle, or free air setup. but i've always been a fan of facing the box towards the trunk any why the hell would you want to put anything else in your trunk besides a sub box?

I never understood why people had subs firing through the rear seats of sedans. I just knew the sounded better and thought that it was for more length for waves to travel as well as the acoustics of the vehicle.2001 ES (Featured at SoundDomain)
