What's being done with the mx3? It lookd like it's in decent shape. Seems like a shame to ruin such an already rare care.

It looks to be in good condition, but it is not at all. I'll end up parting out as much as I can and then scrapping the body.

Pics deleted from imageshack. Doesn't really matter anymore since it was so long ago.

Waiting on some special order gaskets from the Ford dealer, so I decided to get some work done. Got married last weekend too, so my little bro was up from Florida to lend a hand.

            Getting started:

            K8 is out:

Kinda dark but glass, doors, and interior are done:

            Aftermath:

            LET THE CARNAGE ENSUE

            Roadster?

My little bro sawing a car in half for the first time:

Suspension is much easier to remove upside down:

            Stay tuned for more.

Everything stripped off and my mess cleaned up. Now time to start tearing down the escort.

Been forever since I've updated this. Since I started this swap, I've got a job at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant as an operator, went through the training, and gotten married. I got tired of looking at everything sitting around so I got off my butt and started back on this swap. The ZE had rusty cylinders so it's at the machine shop getting a total rebuild and punched out .040 over. Should be getting it back in a couple of weeks. Escort is still sitting patiently along with a ton of MX-3 parts. Soon as the engine is back I will start trial fitting everything and then on to final assembly. I've got everything I need except a curve neck intake and a front interplay bumper.

                Thanks for looking

I tried to give it away and no one wanted it.

                      Progress...sort of.

Machine shop still has the motor. Taking their time but they're are doing it cheap since it's being fit in between big money jobs. Next I will be pulling the MX-3 GS suspension out of storage for clean, paint, refurbish.

Picked up a pretty good score at the junkyard. Found a square port curve neck millenia manifold. It was easy pickings since someone else had already taken it off to get at the cams but would rather have the proper ZE curve neck. This one will do until I can find one. Grabbed the "Mazda 24 valve" valve cover from the same car. Got some tracer headlights from an LTS that was there, nabbed it's rear wing to sell since I already have one. Got some nice GT sideskirts and front mudflaps to match the ones on my familia rear bumper. Last but not least picked up some 92 626 front hubs that were laying on the ground, they were removed by somebody getting the engine and trans. Will have some big news on these soon as I did some test fitting with other parts I already had in my shop, got to figure out a few details first. Will add pics when I get a chance. Got a few other things for my diesel powered Mitsubishi Montero and picked up a five lug rear axle and LSD for my 72 Celica.

                            intake

VC, my original ZE cover simply says mazda and nothing else.

the only difference between a real ZE curve neck, and a millenia curved neck is the lack of a EGR on the back of the real ZE one which has a block off plate. but other then that, its the exact same manifold in every way.
