Found GTX motor!

This guy is selling his GTX (in the pictures) because he is no longer going on with his swap. I am 90% going to buy it - he is asking $1000CAD and he is in Canada. He got the motor from JDMSource, and claims low mileage as well as 170 compression on all fours.

I am a little skeptical about buying it privately ... but it's such a good deal and he did a really good job cleaning it up and prepping it.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this - or should I go for it?

(Motor comes with all manifolds, turbo, AWD clutch - ready to be dropped in)

No ECU and no harness

You're talking about the exhaust one right?

Most exhaust manifolds are like that. They are suject to very high heat and are made out of cast iron, they are going to rust. Motor looks clean to me, i like how he painted the block and oil pan black. Seems like a good deal to me, see if you can get that vj-23 from him

Unless that clutch is very new I wouldn't recommend a used clutch.

I don't know if he is selling the stainless exhaust ... all I know is that he is selling the BPT

BTW, does the VJ 23 bolt up to the same manifold as the VJ 20?

and charles, the clutch is somewhat used .... there is still quite a bit of life to it, so I am inclined to use it and save myself the money that an ACT would cost for now and invest it into a megasquirt instead
