    TPS->Map + Current SAFCII

    So, I leave for the LDS MTC Monday, then it is off to Finland. So this will be my last post for two years. If you have any questions from this hopefully someone else can help you. :
    ________________________________________
    TPS to MAP Setup:
    To set up the MAP to run as the TPS input, please wire the MAP output sensor wire (green) to the TPS input wire of the SAFC II. The MAP Wiring for the RX7 MAP Sensor is:
    Green = Output/Signal wire
    Brown = +5v Power (Wire to the +5V power from your MAF/VAF/AFM device which is the middle wire of the connector |w|w|+5|w|w|)
    Black = Ground (hook to engine or chassis)

    Turn power onto the unit, but do not start the car. Then in the SAFC II set throttle signal in the up position. Do this by going to ETC. ->Car Select-> then put the THR setting to the up arrow (the CYL selection is also in the same screen).

    Then turn power off and back on, go to the main menu, and then go into the Monitor->1 channel-> Select THR, and read the %. This is the Throttle % at 0 (0 Boost, 0 Vacuum). Mine for instance was 47.2%.

    Now go to the Main Menu again, then, Settings-> TH-Point-> Then setup as the following:

    In my Case my Thr % at 0 is 47.2, so I set my low % to 41%, and set my Hi % to 58%. I would recommend setting the low 5-6% lower then the Zero Value, and then just find a Value up high that works the best. As the MAP senses from (in my case) 41-58% It goes from the lo-throttle fuel settings of -28% to the hi-throttle settings of -18%. It does this in a linear fashion, so as you go into boost you add more fuel. Now, these settings can be tweaked and changed, but right now I am awaiting my wideband so I can make sure I do not run lean. Ideally the low % should be set within 2% of the 0 Throttle pt, then the high should be set where the fuel is actually needed. And by that I mean the throttle % where the -18% fuel setting is actually needed. This would be the best setup but without a wideband w/ data logging you can only get it so close because everything goes so fast. So I have just played it safe and made sure the Fuel is there within plenty of time by having it start to add early at 41% then finish adding to get to my hi-throttle % at 58% Throttle. If this has confused you don’t feel bad, I have had the system for 1 ½ yrs and am now just figuring out its full potential. So here is an example to help:
    My lo-throttle fuel setting at 2800rpm is -28%. My hi-throttle fuel setting at 2800 rpm is -18%. If I was at my 0 throttle point of 47.2% at 2800 with my th-points set at lo-41% hi-58%, my Fuel correction would be -25%. If I started to get a little boost and it brought my throttle % up to say 49.5% (halfway between 41 & 58) my Fuel correction would be -23% (halfway between -28 and -18).

    Hopefully this will help you and give you great response, tuning, and better than normal gas mileage from a turbo setup.

    with flap 07 in 07 out

    To tune MAF:

    Move the flap either loose or tight until it reads on the SAFC II AFR %: 0.4% with the car on and the engine not running.

    These settings have it to where I am close to 14.6:1 a/f when I am not in boost, then when I go into boost I go rich (10:1-) to begin with then go to a 11.2:1 under boost. I wish I had more time to tune out the MAP lenear curve so it would be a 11.2:1 the whole way, but no time

                          Soo ummm do you just use the MAP sensor instead of a TPS? Or do you still end up using both? From the directions i'm seeing MAP sensor to TPS wire on the AFC sooo...

                          EDIT: or maybe TPS still goes to stock ecu and MAP goes to AFC?!

                              Ahhh okay. Glad my brain decided to stop f'in around and be helpful for a split second or two!

                              PS: Sooooo i assume that 3 wire or 4 wire tps no longer matters either as the AFC will be using the MAP instead?
