    For the Turbo BG'rs....

I have a question for those of you that have turbo'd your BG regardless of motor . That question is this, how many miles(roughly) have you put on your turbo motor/car between rebuilds, also what parts did you replace when you were forced/chose to rebuild the motor or parts of it? This question is for my personal gain as most of you know I'm under way with my turbo project for my B6D and I need to know what you guys have experienced as far as wear as I want this car to be capable of being driven relatively hard on a nearly daily basis. Yes, I know what that means, but I assure you I am building this motor for maximum reliability with boost just for fun, but I will say that my goal still remains a minimum of 250 hp. I know it sounds ridiculous to say 250 out of the B6D, but factor in the reasonably large order I'm placing with Gude Performance late Nov early Dec. and the numbers these parts are capable of handling, I won't have anything to worry about as long as I build a badass bottom end of which some parts also provided by Gude performance.

    Thanks for the info.

    MrH.

    B6D ...250 HP

easy as...how big is your wallet???

4AGE motors can be built in N/A form to make that power

B6D will just need B6T conrods, and some B6T pistons
keep the head stock, get some cam gears
bolt on a turbo of your choice, get a ECU and injectors
its just like a 1.6lt version of the BP motor anyways,

id rather have a BPT than a B6D ...as it has a much flat torque curve

stock GTX with 40,000 boosted km by me, not sure how many by previous owner, half those km boosted by a GTR turbo at 15psi. Full compression across the board and no oil burning. I am just pulling it out to put in a stronger motor and run 20+psi.

57,000 daily @ 10 psi. to reach 250 you'll need more then a stock turbo, better compression with good pistons, & you'll want oversized valves for sure.

A GTR turbo at 15psi on a healthy GTX motor with proper fuel, exhaust, and FMIC will get you 250whp.

you should use a jgs tools log manifold so that you can use any turbo you want

^ More info on this please! ^
Never mind, I found pics of it and more info, not interested in that, I could make that with ease, but I want something that looks good too, flame me all you want for caring that much, but keep in mind that I've already put too much money into my car so now's not the time to start not caring about how it all goes together and what the final product looks like. Thanks though.

Yeah, I don't want to build just the bottom end, to me that's just delaying the Zoom Zoom Boom factor and I'm trying to build a reliable toy here, not some car that goes fast for 2 miles worth of straight runs and then craps out on me.

I appreciate the speedy responses even though I didn't want this thread posted in the Forced Induction area, I posted in the BG section for the simple fact that it's a BG only thread, but whatever.

I already have the head figured out, it's going to be a complete head from Gude, just unpackage and bolt on, I won't go into details about it or the bottom end kit I'm getting because I still need to gather up all the cash for the parts and I still need to find a spare block so I can have it machined. I'm looking for an entire engine for that matter cause I'd like another Valve cover and the extra parts would be cool to play around with and see what I can come up with.

My thoughts were to use a VJ11/14 turbo setup, but I realized that my goal was pushing that turbo a bit too much, so I'm looking into a t3/4 since I know I can make that power much easier, so that means that the turbo mani from a B6T that I hunted down will probably get sold and now I'm looking for a shop that'll make me a manifold.

I'm doing more research now to figure out exactly what I need to make this project a complete reality, but once I start the work I am going to create a worklog of my progress until the car is completely done as all I have left is paint, body, and motor/tranny. So give me about a year and my 323 will be done and I can move on.

Thanks again guys and keep the info flowin!
                    MrH.

I've read the vj11/17 actually moves much more than the 11/14 hybrid. no idea where you find a vj17 coldside though. still probably not enough to reach 250whp. Just another option outside the T3 route.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

Yeah, I think I need the t3 or one of it's brethren to be as reliable as I'm wanting but still able to beat the pavement on a fly.

I like where your head's at though.
