    Rebuild help!!!

I am in the process of rebuilding my spare BP. It is out of a 91 EGT. Also going into a 91 EGT. I am looking for 200 to 250 horsepower. I don't really need any more than that. I don't have a HUGE budget, but I can spend a little here and there. My question is, what can I do with the motor while rebuilding it? I am not looking to go all out, but, I don't want to skimp, either. All I have done to my current engine is a 2 1/2" exhaust, RX7 VAF, and the exhintake mod. So the exhaust and VAF are out of the way. Can I use the NA exhaust cams in a turbo motor, or would it be better to get the turbo cams? Also, how much boost can be run on stock compression, while running 94 octane? I am not a beginner when it comes to working on motors, but I am not as smart as most of you guys. Thanks for the help.

you'll want the bp26 cams and if you want to do the exintake on that you'll need 2 bp26 exh cams (duh right?). How much boost you run depends on too many things besides the stock compression. But with the BP/BPT rods and BP pistons, I'd say 15psi. This is just an educated guess based on other people's rides. Wiseco pistons of course. Very worth it. What turbo to you hope to afford? VJ/VF hybrid?

    that's all I got. next!
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

What would be a good turbo to use? The 20-14 hybrid, or a T3? But I use the car as a daily driver, so I don't want it to be too peaky. I have an MS2 waiting for everything to come back together.

BPT323 (ryan) has a VJ20/VF12 hybrid, and he dailys it. that's a good one, has good cfm at 15psi.

What is the price for a set of the Wiseco's?

Those pistons will run you ballpark, around $500.

if you dont have to huge budget i would just say buy a bpt swap and drop that in and slowly buy parts to rebuild your other engine

So, then honestly, it would probably be cheaper for me to somehow find a gtx motor, possibly do a minor rebuild on it, and run with my MS2. Now, what to do with my motor. My 3rd GT(funny story) was rusted out pretty bad, then the differential decided it wanted to see daylight. So I kept the motor, wanting to rebuild it. But, I am cost-conscious, so I may go for the better deal. If I did, where could I find one? Most of the places I have looked were sold out. Anyone know any good, yet fairly cheap places? just need the motor and turbo.

Good idea. Get used to having the horsepower, then upgrade to more horsepower!!! I like it. Alright, since my idea has changed, I have a couple more questions. Which head and/or intake manifold would I want to use. I have heard that our NA BP's head and manifold have better flow characteristics. But I really don't know.
