    BP Fuel Rail Help

    Hey Guys..

So im planning to boost eventually.. and i've just been looking around to grab
some key pieces.. such as in this thread I'l be talking about Fuel Rails..

I know OBX makes fuel rails they "claim" fit the BP..

and they do.. they fit the 1.8L Miata.. which has the same head as the ford escort GT basically..

    MY question is....

the miata rail has the FPR on the opposite end as the escort GT rail..

Does it matter where the FPR is located?

    Like for example..

as you know the escort GT head.. the FPR is at the end of the rail on the passenger side of the motor.. then the line comes out the back of the FPR as return..

the rails i see the FPR is on the driver's side of the rail.

Does it matter which end the FPR is on?

i've even noticed a company out here in GTA that makes aftermarket fuel rails for the escort gt/miata.. but same thing..

the FPR location is the opposite from the escort GT.

I noticed this because the rail looks IDENTICAL to a BP-ZE escort rail..

EXCEPT the mounting points (tabs where the rail bolts to the head) are on the opposite side of the rail.. so to bolt it up ala escort style.. i'd have to flip the rail over.. which would bring the FPR close to the distributor end.

My other worry is clearance issues.. will the FPR clear the throttlebody + all the hoses around it???

    clearance on the FPR...no idea

i'd run the feed hose around to the other end though. you dont want it feeding the same end as the FPR is on.

A fuel rail is definitely a good idea. It stops potential leaning out on cylinders.
If you are staying within the GTX boost limits...then a fuel rail should be first on the list.

I'm thinking someone else should start making white95scorts fuel rails again.

Just used the dual feed M-Tuned one... fat enough to fit your pinky in it, so you'll never run dry.
