    Best pistons for boost?

Getting ready to start buying parts for my build, and was wondering what your opinions are on good pistons for a boosted application.

I know Wiseco is a good choice, also hear JE is a good one too. Is there any other ones I should look into?

Mahle is an ok company, DEPENDING on how much boost you plan to run. they have problems with ringlands cracking in high boost setups.

Added saftey of a forged piston is ceramic coating them. Doesn't cost much. I got a quote of 140 to coat all 4 of my stockers

I had forgot about them. I'm wanting this block to be really solid and hearing/knowing that would always put a doubt in the back of my mind when I hammer on it.

Most of the Turbo application ones on the market are forged so I don't have to worry too much on that.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that. I know there are a few companies like CP that offer that option on their pistons when you order them.

I run JE, they supported 30 psi from a VJ23. Weigh only 300 grams. I'm happy with it.

Wiseco here. It's worth coating the sideskirts.

Also the Wisecos FlyingMiata sells have the correct cut-outs for the oil squirters.

I wish I'd gotten the latest FlyinMiata catalog BEFORE I bought parts for the new rallycar engine. Their set of Wiseco's look like the perfect solution for our application, or, aka they be the shiznit. Joebob sez check it out.

I called Wiseco when I did my build to inquire about the cutouts and they said that the pistons they make for our cars now will clear the squirters. When putting the engine together, they did clear with no problems at all.
