    P5 16" Tire sizes

This is a weinie post, I know. My 2003 P5 needs new shoes. I'd like to get something a bit larger than the 195/50 16s. I realize going bigger means taller sidewalls, so less handling. But I'm hoping to smooth the ride out a touch and reduce highway rpms a bit.

How big can you go with stock wheels and suspension?
    205/50?
    205/55?

I listed the above sizes b/c there are lots of options in those sizes, and hopefully the 205/55 isn't so much taller that handling will be hugely sacrificed.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Welcome to the Forum.

A 205/50-16 is a reasonable change for your car as it will give you the benefit of a slightly wider tread and is an acceptable fit for your 6" wide wheels. I would advise against a 205/55-16 as the higher aspect ratio will negatively affect handling and cause a larger speedometer error although it will give you a somewhat more comfortable ride.

BTW, I know you're a n00b but you posted in the wrong forum. You should have posted in the Wheels and Tires section.

    Moved to the correct forum.

    Happy Motoring!
