    Wheel Offset?

I was trying to look for the maximum wheel offset for my protege5 and if the front and rear have a different offset, if anyone can help ill sure appreciate it. Im trying to figure if a staggerd rim will fit this car...

Offset for P5 OEM wheels is +50 mm, front and rear. Obviously the same offset since the wheels are interchangeable front to back.

Offset is measured in mm from the center of the wheel, to the mounting surface.

I believe the BG has OEM +45 mm offset wheels.

Don't forget you can roll and or pull your fenders, and camber the wheels for more clearance to get a lower offset in there

does the larger the number persay 40 MM move the wheel closer to the fender or closer to the hub. VS a 30MM
thats what i always get mixed up on

The greater the + offset, the closer to the strut the wheel is positioned. As + offset is reduced, the wheel is moved closer to the fender (the outside). Thus, a +40 mm wheel is closer to the strut than a +30 mm wheel.

In other words, + offset refers to the distance (in mm) the centerline of the wheel is displaced inward from its mounting face. Likewise, - offset refers to how far the centerline of the wheel is displaced outward from its mounting face.
