So Went to Montreal for the Transmission and the Engine.

Super Anti Climatic results for the transmission... It looks totally NORMAL...

I am interested to fire it through a couple of gear changes to see if all that research paid off in a set of viable ratios..

I`m going to update the Engine How To in the morning..

This is not a new install...

I am simply putting a New Engine/Transmission on an existing Turbo kit that I have been using since 2003..

It was part of a different thing that is no longer there..

Now they both go to a surge tank to clear air quickly from the radiator.

Finally got the car out of the Garage and on the Road today.

Massive Rubbing from the 225/40/18, I will come up with some solution.

                      The Brakes are Silly. PERIOD!

The new Ignition system works great.

Fit and Finish. Leaking Fittings here and there..

Waiting on some more brake fittings to finish the install.

                          Sunday Morning Update:

Because the fuel pressure overall was increased, the Fuel delivery map would obviously be too rich across the board. Spent about 20 Minutes in the garage doing Zero Km/h and literally got the fuel map at idle/Warm and idle/Cold Dialed in 100%.

It starts and runs like OEM. I am really happy that I did this because its really the logical thing to do before retuning the entire map. The first time I got the car running on the Haltech in 2008, I was so excited to drive the car, that I ended up driving and tuning the car for a day, then set the base idle proper and then re-tuned the car. A bit of a waste of time, but still a learning experience. I will say that having the Haltech for two years, Tuning now takes minutes rather than hours. Having now more information and experience makes it second nature to get the results you want.

SOLID STATE RELAY UPDATE: I am still running on a mechanical water pump, Original forged motor and original trans. I want to get the little leaks and issues done, before the engine goes in. It will take probably only 4 hours to do the swap. None of the bolts are rusted and I have almost nothing to do on the motor once it is installed.

I was however able to get the variable cooling fan to work today, and I will use my results to make the cooling pump work better faster.

The Haltech is able to control the fans based on target temperature. I used to have it simply come on at 90 Degrees C. It used to be a huge load on the electrical system and the engine temperature would rise very fast when parked, then drop 5 Deg in 5 Seconds, the fan would switch off and then 10 seconds later it would be back on. This I believe Killed an Alternator in 2 weeks.

So the Haltech is able to control DPO. Digital Pulsed output. In short, it is able to strobe the output. If you want 10%, the flashes will be on for 10% and off for 90%.

You need a Solid State Relay to be able to handle the rapid on and off pulses. They have no moving parts and are able to deliver the load to the motor without failing.

Now when the car is stopped, the temperature will still rise, but when the target start is met, the fan will start to turn slowly and gradually a bit quicker. The temperature of the coolant will go one degree over and then hold. I am so happy with how the system works. Now wasted electricity, plus I can literally dial in a target operating temperature and it will actively HOLD that target.
