Hey everyone I'm Roy. First off I don't have a Protege right now but I'll be looking for a 4wd one in the near future.
A little about myself... most of my car history involves Nissans but I've spent some time around Mazda as well. Right now I own a 1979 RX-7, I had a 1995 Miata that I turbo'd, spent some time under the hood of my friends '88 RX-7, put around from time to time in my room mates '95 Aspire, and both my parents own Protege's; a 2003 sedan and a 2003 MP5. I consider myself pretty good when it comes to any kind of mechanical work on a car but I am horrible at body work lol.
Well sorry for the kinda boring intro but I kinda suck at these intro posts. I do have one question though. When doing the GTX engine and trans swap to a 4wd protege, is there anything out of the ordinary that needs to be done to make it work or is it a relatively bolt in affair? I have quite a few Honda and Nissan swaps under my belt so I know what I'm doing but I've seen a few cars where a relatively easy swap turns into a nightmare due to some weird problem that was completely unforeseen.
Also, I did use the search button and have been searching for a few hours but really didn't find any solid answer. Thanks!
