    Hi there gang

hello guys! my name is Carlos and i live in Central Florida. I found out about this place a while back, when i was looking for info about my son`s 96 kia sephia. But he did not have any interest on the car, so i stop. you see i am a retire machanic ( do to health issues), he basically destroy and abandon the car, just because was not a honda or toyota. i told him that he needs to do a bit of research but i guess that was to much for him. Now to the present, i own the car and done a bit of work to it. I hang a set of 17" with new tires, change damage hood, working on damage fender, put a cai, work with the timing a bit and i got a lot of other things im doing to it. pics and more info coming soon. But after doing some reading in this place i told my self that i have to joint in. There are lots of people that knows what there are doing, so thanks for the opportunity of joint in at this place. CARLOS

Welcome to cp Carlos. Its a shame your son didn't see the potential of what he had. Maybe its time you put some deep work into the car like a turbo setup and smoke him in a race. Maybe he'll come around then haha

hey guys dont know where to post this, so if needs to be move im ok with that.i read somewhere that there are benefits of removing the blades inside intake manifold(vcis?).any one in here done this?? i know i will have to weld the hole where the rod goes thru, no problem with that. technikly makes sense to me. but if someone has done it before will like to know about there experience. and thanks to evreyone for the warm greetings.

this is highly detrimental to remove the VICS system. NA/boosted application VICS is there to HELP you- leave it alone

if you have a FS 2.0L motor removing the butterfly's near the head ports makes a large difference but this isn't the case.

i have been doing some research on this matter because, i found a few guys on a miata site that remove that in theirs and is working very good. i just can find the link. thats why i ask here if anybody has done this and see what results they have achive. bpt323 dont take me the wrong way, i know you are trying to help me not to screw something up. but a have seen some models without this system from factory, also kia stop doing this on another models. so see my friend all i whant is to see the pros and cons. i have a spare intake and i going to see the difference, just trying to see the results on other people cars. thanks

^ your not listening................... this has already been tested/dynoed/proven for this motor & is detrimental to power.

Other motors with similar systems have designs of their own which differ completely

-However, its your time choose to use it as you wish

bpt323 are we cool on this??? the only question i ask was for info. on the pros and cons. just because you tell me that has being done this way or that way dont help me. i understand how it works, just looking for other peoples experiences on the subject. i know if you put a switch and make it work at 5200rpms, some others say to make it work at 6000rpm, some even lower. some have deleted the vics and they swear how good it works. but not one had show the gains on paper( time slip from track) dyno??? but hey, still love you friend . now another matter, how about that thing(secret how to privilege) with contribution??? let me know. PEACE

please referr to searching for threads by Gen1GT relating to the VICS butterfly system. dyno information is available. if you can't find what your looking for PM him.
