hey whats up guys my name is willie i just purchased a 95 escort gt(shell) a couple weeks ago this is my first escort project im planning on putting a bp in to it if anyones noes were i can get a ligit swap for a good price im trying to get it out n running by july so let me noe please an thnk yu !

j/y They usually have decent prices. Or, the best thing to do/easiest, find a lx protege. Than you'll have the motor, tranny, harness, brakes... Or look for a v6 mx3. It has a 1.8l v6, but the parts would be perfect for a 2.5l swap. I would suggest reading some of the build logs in the bg section. Don't let yourself get overwelmed with what others are doing. The majority of us have been at this for years. Just remember to keep it simply and inform youself befor starting. It'll save you a lot of headaches. Oh and welcome to the club!

90-94 protege lx 91-96Escort gt will have the engine your looking for.. your looking for any of the BPs with a 5 speed for the better G series trans..


your going to want to get the ECU and wiring from a 5speed BP regardless..

you want to make sure its OBD1 so 95 or earlier is best atleast for your wiring and ECU

i heard theres a escort gt up at a u pull it JY in wadsworth IL.. its a bit of a cruise but the guy said it was untouched... if its a 5speed you can get everything you need right there in one day
