New To The Forum! cold air intake question

I just purchased a 2002 Mazda protege5 and am anxious to transform it into a fun little car to rip around in ( not that it already isn't...) i was wondering what people are doin for cold air intakes because i am debating whether running exhaust hose down under the rad to the airbox or what? Must be cheap

      Welcome to CP.

As tireboy wrote, do a search for improved intakes. However, I would strongly suggest that you do not run a hose from under the radiator to the air box as you will most certainly drive through standing water at some point and ingest it into the engine. The resultant hydrostatic lock could cause severe engine damage. With a CAI, keep the air inlet as high as possible to prevent this problem.

If you want something cheap, check out:
