I know it's been talked about before but i am thinking about an F2t swap in the wagon

This has been talked about before, but always just tossed around. I know the FE3/Fe EGi and carb came in the South African cars. I am thinking of using the older 626 83-87 cable G (I am guessing) trans and either an NA F2 or a complete F2t. Capri pedals, clutch master setup and 88-92 626/mx-6 f2 trans are also an option. Wiring will be whatever stuff I can find 88-92 626/mx-6 GT (I don't think i would go probe but if it's all I find). I am thinking 323 GT axles might work. I have no idea as far as trans mounts. Maybe find a Gt cross member (why did I not save mine). I have the GT body mount in case it's closer to the Ft2 one, If not maybe cut/unbolt the 626/mx6 one and weld/bolt it in. Or in a perfect world get one from South Africa. I may have to find GT shifter assembly (let mine go with my b6t). I think that covers everything. I don't plan to change the brakes I already have GT brakes at all corners. I guess i would enjoy a 5 lug swap, maybe if I find a parts car. This is all speculation, If i get enough information. I may start collecting parts. I have most of a KL swap which i will keep for an escort wagon or sleeper pony one day. I want boost again!

So after more research it looks like I am on track with the 83-97 626 non turbo gearbox. It is 26 spine and cable so I can use my existing pedal set. It says the turbo box is the same but hydro. I found both not to far from me. It seems like this might be a viable option for me. Even if i go with the turbo box and carpi/gtx pedals. So it looks like I can use the GT axles which was my largest hurdle. I guess I am ready to put this on the back burner and start slowly collecting stuff after I get back on track. Any more input is appreciated!

Ugh..... If you we were in the same country, I'd be very tempted to offer my GT as trade for your wagon lol..... Any car 87' and older don't need an emissions test here, so I'd drop in a turbo KL in that wagon..... If I did that to my GT, i'd have emissions to worry about lol

      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I would take that trade in a heartbeat too! I miss my Gt and would not pass up a chance at another one. I would meet you in Chicagoland with it. I still have family up there I could see to justify the trip!
