Just wondering if anyone has done this swap? I know the B8 came in the KF/KH Laser so its not unheard of. I'm just thinking that a B8 might be an upgrade over the 1.9L CVH and I'll have a spare B8 in the future...

the 2.0 is a pretty easy swap, read up on it over at feoa.
to put a B8 in it you would need so much stuff from a GT that you might as well just put a BP in there...Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

Yeah, just put the 2.0L SPI from a third gen. Basically a drop in as long as you get the motor from a 97 as that is the last year they used the same fuel system as the 2nd gens.-Dennis

What I currently have is this:
1995 EGT, body rotted, perfect drivetrain
1993 ProGT, body somewhat rotted, unsure of engine
1994 ProDX, body good, engine good
Eventually I'm putting the drivetrain from the EGT into the DX with help of GT bits. A 95 Escort recently showed up on Kijiji and it intrigued me if I can get it cheap enough... its an auto car so perfect as a vehicle for my girlfriend.
