    Transmission guru's

    OK

    95 Escort GT 5spd trans

cruising down the highway one night and all of a sudden i get a loud WHINE , i clutch in an pull over ... dont see anything physically wrong , start the car up , put it in first an pull away ... no whine ... shift to 2nd engine INSTANTLY stalls an shuts down .... so i fire it back up ... even with it in N it still drives like its in first but will stall when put in any other gear.

i pullled the trans , split it an found 1st gear seized to the shaft ... so i change both shafts for 2 others i had ... i got MAYBE 200 km an it does this AGAIN .... WTF and why ?.. mad

i honestly dont know why this same issue happened on 2 different shaft sets .

im currently in need of a another GT trans or some internals from another trans.
the laptop i had all my notes on died so i dont have my interchange list anymore.
anyone know what transmissions share the same or stronger internals to that of the EGT 5spd an can be put in the egt case?

Your not that far from me and i have an EGT trans with no diff sitting in my garage, as far as i know the gear shafts are good

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Look up a post I did about the differences of B6T and KLDE transmissions... I am to lazy to look for it right now... I posted lots about the different lube areas... It sounds like you have a lack of lube problem...

there is somewhere on the net . its not that hard if you remember how you take things apart

im going to be doing a internal shaft change on mine tomorrow so if you want ill take a butt load of pics or make a vid of it . its a heck of alot cheaper to remove the shafts your self an take them into a transmission shop an have them replace things like syncro's or buggered gears

if you give me a day or 2 ill get something put together

no special tools are needed but a compressor an impact gun speeds things up an makes it a almost painless job to do.
