What do you think, is this an aftermarket or factory emblem?

I bought this EGT grill off ebay a month or so ago. Brand new in a Ford box with part number sticker, Ford castings on the backside, and even the two neon price tag looking stickers on the backside. The emblem that came on it is very different from any color Ford logo I remember seeing before. I thought it was black when I bought it, and even up until the time I took it near sunlight to take some pictures, but it's actually a very dark navy blue.

Anyone ever see this color Ford logo before? All I ever remember seeing is the light blue color like the grill pictured with it. I'm thinking somewhere along it's lifetime someone just stuck an aftermarket emblem on there, which is also weird because the grill was never painted or anything and has no signs of ever being mounted to a car. For all I know the grill itself is aftermarket since the ones on ebay look like they are also primer gray, but I would think another company producing replicas would have to remove the Ford stampings. And I don't know why someone would have the real Ford box for the grill, but be selling an exact replica.

thats a newer style ford badge. they probably are all the same size and just used that badge and discontinued making the older style

they did do a few different colors. there was even a special edition probe that had a matching purple emblem to the purple paint. they also had purple stitching on the interior.

Yeah, that's a factory Ford emblem. I had one for my Ranger that was that colour blue, actually. Not sure if its a newer emblem or not as my 97 Expedition has the lighter blue...
