It's SRS BZNS is what it is. I'm gonna NEED a bunch of downforce on this thing. These cars get sketchy at about 120mph to begin with.... i'll be hitting that in like... 3rd gear.

I've got a 3.9 torsen already. We'll see, but I'm not expecting a miracle miata to start off. Just a fun toy, for minimal cash. I'll have about $2000 into it when all is done, but then I'll still have my bp4w, and a whole shell, plus two complete AC systems, and an abundance of parts left over to part out. The goal is a free boosted miata. I will play around with gearing calculators, and if I find a 6speed for a reasonable price, I'll probably snag that too. I found the 6speed fe3 miata on miataturbo last night, so I know what that swap entails.Current:

Replaced the blower motor in the mpv. Kind of a pain not having balance and having to sit on the door sill to do the work.1993 Protege LX-Midnight's shadow SOLD

Pulled the old ford pickup out of the backyard. Gassed it up, swapped out the front tire that was about to blow with the spare, put some Seafoam in the gas tank, topped off the radiator with some antifreeze. I love this old truck but it's so old and worn out. The master cylinder is out so I have to pump the brake pedal at stop lights, the radiator leaks, and pretty much all the vacuum hoses are brittle, braking, broke. It's the work truck that might get replaced by a rental from u haul. The funny part, it's green with algae which really stands out because it's a white truck. Yea, there's rust too.

First time in awhile that Ive done something to a non 323 or pro.
Ordered parts for swapping a subaru drivetrain into one of my 914's. Should be pretty fun when done.
Also, beau im right there with you. Last summer when I first started mulling the idea tons of parts where available. So far I haven't had much luck.Ian Boyd- Bellingham, WA (click vehicle to view)

Atomic-Not Entirely to sure on the motor selection yet. Just bought the engine/transmission mounts, awd to 2wd conversion pieces for the tranny and axles. So I am committed to the 5 SPd manual but motor wise I can use any of the ej series 4 cyl or the ez 6 cyl motors.
They are great cars super lightweight and simple. Just heavily rust and neglect prone.
Durwood- the 996's an early bolsters are getting cheap, especially with the early models high rate of engine problems. Ill try and find the build thread tonight for a guy who subi swapped a boxster, it was sweet!
Cody- they used to be had for that much all the time!! I've owned about 7 914's cheapest one I bought was $75, made a nice little profit on that one. Now for some reason the prices are skyrocketing. But good deals are out there.
If and when I do start a build thread I'll be sure to link it up here. I am making arrangements at my job that will allow me a much more decent car budget but probably won't get rolling on anything till about April.Ian Boyd- Bellingham, WA (click vehicle to view)
