LOL same color RX7 too. Blasphemy. Everyone knows an FD is supposed to have a Compound boosted 3.0/3.2L Taurus SHO V6 attached to a Vulcan Ranger Trans.

Step one: Find 1999 Miata Shell for $300. Check (delivery setup for sunday pending weather)
Step two: Find 2000 Miata LS parts donor for newly acquired shell. (whoops already had that) Check
Step three: Find Good F2T Engine. (hey wuddya know, had that too) Check
Step four: Need Hood, drivers fender, drivers headlight, and Airbags as well as radiator to have one complete Miata. Getting all that (except hood) from guy with shell for another $350. ALMOST Check
Step five: Need B2000 Bellhousing. And a bunch of welding/fabrication. Some wiring will be needed too.
Ben: I guess we meet again. We both started our KL swaps around the same time. Now it's on to bigger fish I guess. (even though both the cars and the motors are smaller this time LOL) Cant wait to beat you on this swap too (even though you are going to way out-do me again... super baller status) BTW... I cant wait to see your Escort in action. There better be tons of footage.
Anyway. My Miata is going to be hideous. Almost 50/50 Split color exterior panels. Half red and Half white (plus whatever color hood I find for cheap, hopefully green). My front bumper from the white one is torn, but some zip-ties will semi-repair that. The car will be gutted of all non-essential stuff, and to start, my F2t is going to be mostly stock... Ultimately, all the body panels [except front bumper] I have for it are almost flawless, so it will be straight, maybe I'll Plasti-dip it one color eventually? Depending on how the transmission holds, eventually more power. I just want to get it drivable soon, as I have missed my NB sooo much.Current:
68 Torino GT Fastback
86 MR2
91 F150
94 Escort Wagon BP swap
99 Escort Wagon BP swap
00 Miata LS
08 Arrow AX8
14 Mazda5

I picked up the Escort yesterday from the alignment shop! Then it goes down to Ludwig Motorsports on the 17th.

My theoretical top speed is going to be north of 200mph, ignoring drag. Gonna need aero for days!

Getting the multi-function 14point7.com SLC PP2 Wideband Datalogger ready to rock and roll. Just need more sensors to come in the mail and we'll be good to go!
This is my JDM (yes, it's actually from Japan) Asus EEEPC 901. I'm going to be running some software called Winlog, with a USB connectivity to my LSU and power supply on the wideband datalogger. The gauges read: AFR, RPM, Boost/Vac, EGT, Fluid Temp, AIT, Fuel Pressure, and Oil Pressure. I have sensors and hookups for all of those except for fluid temp. On the right are readouts for the unit's temperature, the battery voltage, cornering G's, and acceleration G's. On the bottom is the datalogger, up to which I have hooked AFR/RPM/Boost/EGT/AIT for monitoring purposes.

Ooooooo!!!
Same lol. "Free."
Hahah sucker!!!! Mine is complete inside and outside minus drivetrain!
Is this where i assume you're not going for a whole lot of power? I can already tell you you're doing it wrong. I only need to fab three things (Engine mount adapter plates, and a rear trans mount), and i'll end up with a usable powerband.
You'll beat me again, i can't make a ton of progress on this until fall. Gonna be busy racing this summer.

Heh... mine is probably going to start clean, then end up..... "interesting."

Mostly stock to start. I'll be doing Intake, FMIC, 3" exhaust, and more boost to start. We'll see where it goes from there. I have a complete car too. It's just wrinkly, and leaky in its radiator region. The only fab ill have to do is mounts and exhaust. Mine was more $$$ for sure, but I am happy to have a bare shell. More easy to pick and choose what goes on the final product. Plus it will keep me busy for a while, for little cash. Which is good!Current:

I'm going to warn you right now.... using Miata trans and rear end is going to SUCK lol. Play with a gearing calculator or two to find out what i'm talking about.
The "easy" button that might have a chance of holding up to a mild (or at least by my definition) F2T would be a Miata 6spd (Bolts on) with Torsen rear of your choice. (MSM would be best in terms of strength, but that's a 4.10, so you'll go with a 3.9 if you're lucky.)
But then.... seriously AWFUL car to drive.
