Well last month has been a really good month, busy as all hell but. I got a raise and a free pickup so needless to say hard work does pay off. It was a 1988 F150 4.9L I-6, locking 3.55 5 spd manual, downside we got it as abandoned first and foremost I had no idea what I was getting myself into, popped open the hood, the upper radiator hose was bursted open like a boiler exploded and couldn't get the damn thing to start. So I replaced the starter and the upper hose and the key wouldn't work so I jumped the relay... while jumping the relay I quickly realized I forgot to make sure it was out of gear and it followed with the quick consequence with me getting ran over by my own new truck. FML! But that didn't stop this guy, on the second attempt of blockin all the wheels and firing up in neutral it fired right up and ran like a champ. In fact it didn't overheat, strange? I thought so to... So lets take this thing for a spin! Much to my surprise the clutch worked great I mean hey! Damn thing already ran me over. But quickly realized that I was shifting every 4 MPH... So I checked the shifter for the transfer case, I am in 2, put it in 4 you could definitely tell that it was in fact now in 4, but the speed was the same... then 4 low still the same, the shifter was attached and not broken gave the resistance of a normal BW 1356.. Check the rear end? Like brand new in fact! So what the hell is going on? Pulled the plug on the transfer case for gigs why not. Out comes the gear oil! Its supposed to be Dex/Merc ATF!! WTF!!! So it now needs a rebuild. No worries, buddy of mine in north dakota hooked it up and charged me $50 for the range selector fork, range hub slider, oil pump. Only parts that seemed damaged. Tore it down, cleaned it up and walla! Truck runs and drives like a champ! Now just gonna put in a MS, Supercharge it, Put the ZF 5 spd heavy duty transmission, and lift it on 35's, It's gonna be a good year! My pictures are kind of crap forgive me, the lights in this shop makes my phone wig out.

Sure enough, I know with 11psi they can put out some 225hp and 418ftlbs of torque on a poor tune, been doing a lot of reading on these and used to have a 1981 carb edition, damn thing would never die. More pics to come when I get a moment. Thanks ryan, bosses seem to take more vacations nowadays since I started working here again. Not What you build, But HOW.

I had to wash, like, 50 lbs of bug guts off after this 1200 mile jaunt and will get to do it again when we get back. But that's OK... ain't no such thing as a markedly better car for crossing Montana than this overdone naziwagen.'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Raced it, and Won. Oh, and last friday it got Cusco Zero2-R inverted springythings and a set of Gram Lights 57C's with freshly polished lips... (had rash when I picked them up from Bo, so I sanded/polished then mounted and immediately proceeded to shred some brand new sumitomo's whilst drifting and auto crossing my way to the peak of the podium.) Thanks again Bo, all the parts are lovely. Video footage of the racin' and the slidin' coming to a screen near you soonLast edited by CODY004WD; 06-21-2015, 11:44 PM.Current:

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

swapped the welded diff out of my hatch for some garbage-ass VLSD from my friend's coupe so his dad could take it drifting this weekend. on the way back, lost a bolt from somewhere (probably the driveshaft, but who the **** knows). next week it goes to Blazin674's for a new clutch and some other bull****.sigpic

Soooo... I went against supercharging the pickup instead I found a MAF style donor I-6 truck with a heavy duty 70's exhaust manifold that I can easily weld a flange for a decent turbo. Thinking of pushing anywhere from 12-15 psi? sounds legit why not... Damn things are tanks they never die.Not What you build, But HOW.
