    1250 damn that's a good price. That's all you'd ever need.

94 Protege LX: HX-35, Megasquit, ect...
98 Subaru Legacy GT-DD: 1 inch lift, and all the standard N/A stuff.

Warmed my heart to hear someone say a "better car" and first gen in one sentence intentionally.

If you're really anal when it comes to the contortion of the english language, or ne-sh*t you find hard to let pass, you should take "THE MANS" advice get a butt lube.....

Here's the run down for you:

        1st gen protege LX:
        Pro's:
-Has BP and short-ratio G_series (=stronger) tranny stock
-Has power options and cruise control stock
        -has more room inside (sorta)
        -Easier to find (sorta)

        Con's:
        -Weighs more
-Is more tail-happy when taking corners (probably due to longer wheelbase)

        323:
        Pro's:
-Shorter wheelbase gives it some handling potential
-Is 200lbs (at least) lighter than a pro LX
-Has a decent amount of interior room regardless of its size

        Con's:
-Getting hard as ballz to find in reasonable condition
-Has a ****ty 1.6 and ****tier f-series gearbox standard...would definitely need to be swapped
-hard to find with a/c or power steering or both since they weren't standard. It is possible but may hinder your search if you MUST have one or both of these

So its up to you. Price-wise you probably won't spend any less on a 323 than a protege in similar condition, maybe 1-200 dollars. A 323 has more potential in teh end if you lighten it and do a BPT or BP swap and build it up some but other than that, there isn't too much a difference besides their body styles
        93' Noble Green MX-ZE (sold )
        02' Graphite Grey WRX Stage 4, 286whp
05' Pontiac Vibe daily driver, lowered/tinted/rims
