There are a few 'leaders of the pack.' Andrew Bode(twilightprotege) has a P5 down in Australia who's heavily modified with bolt-ons. He's running a 15.2 at the moment. Pretty damn good for just bolt-ons. Installsheild(Jamie Ritter) has already built and dynoed an MP3 engine at school, with custom pistons, rods and cams running on Motec engine management. He's made over 200hp and reved past 8000RPM, and is waiting for his engine management so he can install this engine in his car. Scorch70(David) has done the most extensive internal modifications. He's had his cylinder head EXTENSIVELY modified by famed engine builder Paeco, including port/polish, larger valves, firmer valve springs, custom cams etc. He's also having his bottom end built by Paeco, which is taking more time than he wished.

Eddie IS one of the pioneers, as just like all of us Protege NA tuners, it's never been done before on a Protege. If I were to choose the people with the most knowledge and experience, it would however be Jamie, Andrew and myself. I'm not sure how much you hang out in the NA Tech section, but lately Jamie and I haven't posted much, as our builds are lagging behind...

Why not buy a real car and be done with it?

LOL! Because then he couldn't call himself a "pioneer" and one of the ONLY three people on the Forums "with the MOST knowledge and experience" in building an NA Protege engine.

        Happy Motoring!

Spend 10 grand on a NA Motor Protege with retardedly agressive cams, and 13:1 compression pistons, can barely idle whatsoever, and finally break into the mid 14's!!

And still get beat by a stock

Or spend $2k on a turbo setup for the protege and $500-1000 on suspension and own him in the straight and on turns!

PS: And no **** a protege doesn't make much n/a. Its 1.8L and 4 cylinders. Run 4 cylinders on that camaro which will still have more liters and lets see what it can do!
**SOLD** 93 EGT with more suspension mods then your average riced out civic's # of decals + useless "bling/style/culture" mods! **SOLD**
95 EGT New beater! And gawd damnit shes NOT pink!
